The US Federal Government placed their first order for 2.5 M pounds of cannabis product in 2018 for medical testing purposes, and several states, led by NY have encouraged medical doctors to write scripts for cannabis substitutes for pain management instead of opioids.
In the US, no vendor may cross state lines to sell their product. No federal banking institute can open an account for a cannabis cultivator, processor or distributor. Any product with over 3% THC is still on a federal controlled substance ban. And yet, literally billions of dollars are being wagered on the eventual legitimation of the entire industry and the elimination of the federal ban.
